By obtaining your License to carry, not only will you learn the Texas State Penal Codes, proper handling of a firearm, non-violent dispute resolution, proper firearm storage, and the most important, FIREARM SAFETY RULES. You will also learn that there are many places that have this sign posted by TABC (Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission) wherever alcohol is sold not for consumption on premise (Walmart, convenience stores, etc.). It is one of the most common warning signs (such as the one to the right) posted by TABC in Texas.
Without a LTC, entering one of these establishments, carrying a weapon IS A FELONY which can be punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
There are other signs that you must have knowledge of in order to keep you protected from breaking the law. By taking an LTC class you will learn what those signs are and the understanding of where you can and where you can't carry a firearm.
Carrying a firearm for personal defense is a personal choice that comes with great responsibility.
Learning self-defense in a class where safety and knowledge is paramount, is the best choice for understanding State laws, Penal Codes and your responsibilities for safely and legally defending yourself, your loved ones and others in that crucial moment, should that ever occur. Just strapping a gun on and thinking that you are good to go is NOT the answer.
There ARE major differences and State Laws pertaining to permit less carry - the State of Texas is NOT a constitutional State.
